Toffee

Wellspring came to us with a great product and no digital presence. In two months, Toffee Design Studio built their brand from the ground up, a full booking website, and a custom CRM with a student-focused loyalty program synced to Apple Wallet — a system designed to turn one-time guests into repeat customers before they ever opened their doors.

The Challenge

Wellspring came to Toffee with a great product and nothing to show for it digitally — no brand, no site, and no system to manage bookings or repeat guests. They needed to launch as a serious catering business before August, with an identity that felt genuinely rooted in authentic Indian drinks, not a generic food template.

  • No digital presence

No website, no booking flow, and no way to manage customers or repeat business online.

  • No brand identity

No logo, no visual language, and no name-to-design translation to lead with.

  • Hard August deadline

Needed to be client-ready for acquisition — not positioned like a side project.

  • Event-based complexity

Weddings, pujas, festivals, and corporate events each needed a clear booking path.

  • Repeat customers missing

No loyalty layer to turn one-time event guests into people who come back.

  • Authenticity over generic

The brand had to signal real Indian drinks — traditional, cultural, and expandable.

The Challenge

Brand Identity

Built the identity from scratch around one clear idea: authenticity. The brand needed to signal real Indian drinks, made traditionally, rather than a generic catering aesthetic.

Since the long-term vision is expanding into other cultural cuisines, the identity was built to lead with authentic drinks from [culture] as a repeatable brand structure — starting with India.

Brand Identity

Product Website

Designed in Figma, built in Next.js. Structured around how people actually book catering — for both event hosts at weddings, pujas, and corporate events, and for casual bookings.

  • Home

Hero, drink menu with per-guest pricing, a simple 3-step booking flow, and FAQ.

  • Core pages

Menu, About, Booking, Rewards, and Contact.

  • Built for two audiences

Event hosts and casual bookers — each with a clear path through the site.

Event Booking Flow

Because Wellspring is event-based, booking had to do more than collect a form. We built a flow tuned for weddings, pujas, festivals, and corporate gatherings — helping guests understand pricing, event types, and next steps without friction.

CRM + Loyalty System

This wasn't part of the original brief — Toffee's team recommended it. Wellspring's location near ASU meant heavy exposure to international students, a naturally loyal audience if given a reason to return. A loyalty system was proposed to convert first-time guests into repeat customers, reinforced by the product's own quality.

  • Points-based rewards

Student-friendly tone in all customer-facing copy and emails.

  • Automated email flow

Triggered on every booking — customer confirmations and internal staff notifications.

  • Apple Wallet integration

No app to download, no physical card — a professional rewards pass customers can add directly.

  • Role-based CRM access

Admin (full control), Staff (day-to-day bookings), and Reward members (their own balance).

CRM + Loyalty System

Self-Service Admin

The Wellspring team runs the business independently through the CRM — without coming back to Toffee for routine changes.

  • Bookings & orders

Track and manage bookings across events.

  • Email templates

Edit customer and internal email templates themselves.

  • Rewards & redemptions

Manage the reward system and redemptions in one place.

  • Live menu updates

Edit products and menu items that reflect live on the site.

Self-Service Admin

Email Automation

Every booking triggers automated communication — keeping guests informed and giving staff immediate visibility into new orders.

Process

From discovery to handoff, every phase was sequenced around Wellspring's tight timeline and the dependency between brand, site, and systems.

  • Discovery

Understanding the event-based catering model and the August deadline.

  • Brand foundation

Identity first — the website and rewards card both depend on it.

  • Design in Figma

Full site architecture and UI, including booking and rewards.

  • Build in Next.js

Frontend, backend, and CRM admin panel.

  • Loyalty buildout

Rewards program with Apple Wallet and automated email integration.

  • Handoff

Trained the team to self-manage bookings, templates, rewards, and products.
